About the role:
We are seeking a Safety Partner to support operational and business leaders in delivering strong safety outcomes across our Central Queensland Coal Network.
Reporting to the Principal Safety Partner, this role provides practical safety advice, coaching and assurance, working closely with leaders and frontline teams to implement safety initiatives, monitor performance and embed a positive safety culture.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys being visible in the business, contributing to improvement initiatives, and supporting leaders to manage safety effectively in a high‑risk operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide practical safety advice and coaching to leaders and teams
- Support the delivery of safety action plans and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist leaders to strengthen safety culture and wellbeing practices
- Participate in safety governance activities, audits and assurance processes
- Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, policies and procedures
- Contribute to internal investigations and event reviews
- Support enterprise and business unit safety projects and change initiatives
- Prepare safety reports and insights for internal and external stakeholders
About You
You are a capable safety professional who is confident working with operational leaders and frontline teams in complex environments. You bring a pragmatic approach, strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to safety.
You will also have:
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety (mandatory)
- Experience working with WHS legislation and regulatory requirements
- At least 2 years’ safety experience within a high‑risk industry
- Experience supporting audits, investigations and safety improvement initiatives
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines
Desirable:
- ICAM Investigation training
- Auditor qualifications
- Experience contributing to safety‑related projects or change initiatives
